The mechanical principles behind how the CO2 softener functions:

The SoluCalc® installation involves solubilising the CO2 in the network water supply.

  • SoluCalc® comes into direct contact with the water to be treated. When a tap is open:
    • the dose regulator measures instantaneous water consumption (and therefore the calcium carbonate)
    • transmits this information to the calculator
    • the calculator manages the opening of the CO2 solenoid valve
    • the solenoid valve enables a defined quantity of CO2 to enter into contact with the water
    • calcium present in the water combines with the CO2 to form calcium bicarbonate
    • calcium bicarbonate is 70 times more soluble than calcium and will not lead to build up in your installations.
  • The pressure regulator on the CO2 bottle assures constant pressure slightly greater than the network water pressure.
  • The small 220 – 12 Volt transformer which hooks up to a wall outlet less than 1 meter from the dose regulator, assures n0-risk electrical supply for the EU approved SoluCalc®unit.
  • The water pressure regulator, installed before SoluCalc®, assures uniform water pressure of all water flows.
  • SoluCalc® assures the proper distribution of CO2 in the water and protects your installation at all times.
