Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any brochures I can print out?

2 documents are available directly on the website: – a single sheet document that summarizes the advantages of SoluCalc® for home use – the information guide, with more information in an 8 page booklet.

What about if the house is unoccupied for a month or more?

That’s just it…there’s NOTHING to do at all! This is an advantage with SoluCalc®: it adapts to how much water your household uses, from 5 to 5,000 liters per hour!

I have a big family. Can I install SoluCalc®?

The standard SoluCalc® system can manage 10 showers simultaneously (at a rate of 8 liters/minute for an ecconomical shower, or 15 liters/minute for a normal shower). So SoluCalc® can also be installed in a building with several apartments.

Can I water my garden with SoluCalc® water?

There is no problem with watering your garden with carbonated water! But for economical purposes, we recommend disconnecting SoluCalc® when watering outdoors.

What will happen to my fish if their fishtank is filled with SoluCalc® water?

At normal dosage levels with SoluCalc®, there is no danger for fish. Aquarium maintenance will be much easier because lime scale will no longer stick to the sides. In fact, it is among aquarium enthusiasts that the CO2 water injection technique is the best known and for the longest time!

How will I know when my CO2 bottle is empty?

When the CO2 bottle is empty, the left gauge (against the bottle) indicates the o bar pressure. Up until the last week of use, meaning as long as liquid CO2 remains in the bottle, it is impossible to estimate with the regulator’s pressure valve the volume remaining in the bottle, because pressure will remain identical. The high pressure reading on the pressure gauge on the bottle only varies according to the temperature of the gas, so it provides no indication as to the volume remaining in the bottle. Usual consumption of CO2 ranges between 90 and 120 m³ of treated water per 10 kg bottle. The return of the negative effects of lime scale on your installations will be the best indicator that the bottle is empty!

My installation is composed of galvanised pipes. What is the risk of using SoluCalc® under these conditions?

There is no risk using SoluCalc® with galvanised pipes so long as you abide by the precaution and stay above pH 7.0 The first homes using this technique were equipped back in early 2000.

In my electric coffee pot, there is still a lime scale film; is this normal?

Absolutely. SoluCalc® makes lime scale soluble, but it is still present. This film is easily cleaned with an ordinary cloth. The lime scale no longer sticks to the sides.

Will the water in my tap become carbonated, like soda water?

Absolutely not! The SoluCalc® dose is 10 times weaker than the quantity of CO2 used to make soda water. So there is no risk of finding CO2 bubbles in your pipes or in water treated with SoluCalc®.
